Diana and James had an intimate wedding at one of the most amazing outdoor venues I have ever been to: Nestldown in Los Gatos, CA.

1. Take part in a volunteer Bible education work to African and Indian foreigners.

2. Surf in Spain and France.

3. Eat the best Indian food of my life in London.

2012 was an amazing year. This is a movie that highlights my favorite moments from my 2012 outdoor weddings!

Christina + James were one of the most unique couples I’ve had the privilege of working with this year. They both love art and music which is probably why we got along so darn well. I just had to create a custom song for their wedding movie..

Amber and Brett met in the summer of 2007 as they began teaching together at a charter school in Austin Texas. Amber taught 8th and Brett taught 5th.

When I asked Amber why she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Brett, she said, “Brett inspires me to be kinder, to give more, and to worry less. He is a constant source of love and support and I learn from his strength, grit and grace each day.”

Sounds pretty good to me

One of the reasons I love my job so much is because I get to observe such unique people and relationships. Molly + John are the reason I love my job. Such different personalities coming together to create an incredibly unique friendship. Here’s how they met:

Molly + John met on eHarmony in 2010. They were matched up by the system and Molly thought John looked pretty cool and contacted him first. John emailed back immediately and suggested cutting to the chase (“while we’re still young”) and meeting for a glass of wine. It couldn’t have been a more perfect match!

When I asked them why they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together this is what they said:

Molly: “John is wonderful. He is loving and steadfast. He is brilliant and driven. He is laid back and doesn’t sweat the small stuff… which is good because that, at times, is my specialty. We balance each other out. We have so much fun together and want to spend our lives having fun, being active, working hard, and enjoying life. And we are super in love, which we are both committed to doing everything in our power to maintain, “through good times and bad.” At the risk of sounding trite, I love the way he loves me.”

John: “I love Molly. She makes me feel like she needs me greatly and has chosen me carefully at the same time. That blend of confidence, self-awareness, and willingness to embrace the vulnerability of love is something that can only found in a truly amazing woman. I’m so lucky to be loved by her.”

This wedding was unique because it was held on John’s family’s vineyard, the first wedding to ever be held there. I also enjoyed working with one of my great photography friends Sarah Kathleen. Enjoy!

Jessica + Shawn are a truly unique couple. I don’t think I’ve ever known a couple that has been together for 14 years straight out of high school! I thought how they met was a really interesting little story. This is from Jessica’s perspective:

I started high school excited for a new chapter in my life (and by new chapter I mean the chance to have more freedom and meet older, high school guys…let’s be honest). My first Biology class was just about to start when all of a sudden this boisterous guy with the most presence I’d ever seen busts into the room and takes the empty seat next to me. He introduces himself as Sirtaj Singh and quickly became one of my best friends. As Shawn had been close to Sirtaj since middle school, we started hanging out in a lot of the same circles and were in the same limo for my first Homecoming dance. Although I went with Sirtaj and Shawn went with another girl, I had the hugest crush on him! I remember constantly glancing over at him throughout the night and when the limo got to my house first at the end of the night, Shawn made a point of getting out to say goodbye. We hugged and he whispered that I looked beautiful. I was hooked!

After that night Shawn and I continued to see each other on occasion but it wasn’t until the next dance that anything happened. I had wanted to ask Shawn to the “Vice Versa” dance (where the girl asks the guy) and had heard through friends that another girl had her eyes set on him as well. After hearing that my Type A personality kicked into high gear and I raced to find Shawn before the other girl did. As fate/luck would have it I found him first and asked him to the dance.

A couple weeks later Shawn asked me out on our first date–to see Titanic at the theater! Midway through he held my hand and then as the ship was going down he asked me to be “his girlfriend” . 14 years later, through all the ups and downs of life, we are still going strong!

When I asked them why they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, this is what they told me:

Shawn: (In reference to a baby picture of Jessica) It’s crazy seeing the one you love at such an early age. Thinking that at that moment in life neither of you could have imagined the special love you would one day share with someone. This picture tells so much about Jessica. She has such a positive outlook on life, cares deeply for all her friends and family and is so playful, fun and adventurous. I am beyond lucky to have such a special woman in my life but if she ever puts on pink overalls that’s a deal breaker. Love you babies. I can’t wait to spend my life with you.

Jessica: Look how cute Shawn is! Even as a kid, he had the most amazing blue eyes. Not sure about that bowl haircut though Shawn’s parents, Kande and Beau, certainly did something right when raising him! I’m constantly amazed by Shawn’s generosity, concern for the underdog, thoughtfulness and of course, amazing cooking skills! He is always making me laugh, especially with his impromptu dance performances! Let’s hope he busts out some famous moves during the wedding (Katy Perry anyone!)

I felt very fortunate to meet these two and to create a song and wedding movie for them to keep forever! Congrats Jessica + Shawn!

Krista + Steven are the best. They met through mutual friends a couple years ago at a backyard BBQ but they were both in college at the time and neither had time to date. A couple years later they were both done with college and the timing was perfect. Krista says the flames rekindled on Super Bowl sunday in 2009 and Steve took Krista on the best first date of her life!

Krista and Steve are passionate about science, medicine, cooking and dinosaurs. They love to eat good food and drink even better wine.

When I asked Krista why she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Steven she said that Steve is the most brilliant, handsome and kindest person she had ever met. “He makes me feel like the most loved person in the world.”

I had such an awesome time becoming Krista and Steve’s friend. I also composed this song specifically for their wedding trailer!
